The complex yet simple design gives you the increased sound and performance you are looking for with its straight through design on moderate to hard acceleration and then the unique purge chambers cancel out the unwanted interior noise during low rpm cruising speeds. The development team at B&B did extensive testing on the complete exhaust system for the Cadillac CTS-V, looking at the both the 2.5" exhaust and the 3" exhaust. We found the best performance and sound to be with the 3" PRT muffler system, and then using a 2.5" front pipe and mid pipe arrangement. This allows us maintain low restriction for quick acceleration, while nearly eliminating the in cabin resonation created by the automatic transmission of the new CTS-V. The smaller front pipes allows us to gradually increasing the exhaust velocity throughout the system with smaller diameter front pipes and larger mufflers for greater horsepower and torque. These results have been confirmed by the chassis dyno and by our customers. Precision crafted using 100% T-304 stainless steel and CNC mandrel bending, this exhaust system is manufactured as a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory system and by utilizing the factory mounting locations this system requires absolutely no cutting, welding, or modifications for installation and includes all mounting hardware. A pair of 4.25" round double wall tips gives the V a bold and individual look. Each Billy Boat Performance Exhaust system incorporates 3 generations of fabrication skill and racing talent. Every system starts with T-304 stainless steel, known throughout the industry as the highest quality material practical for after-cat exhaust applications. All exhaust tubing is mandrel bent on sophisticated CNC machinery for a precise fit and uninterrupted exhaust flow. The use of T-304 stainless steel flanges also offers high strength and complete resistance to harsh elements. All hangers, resonators, and tips are T-304 stainless steel as well. Billy Boat Performance Exhaust mufflers are crafted in-house with years of racing and street development invested into the design. Each muffler is tuned to match its application for the best possible performance gain and sound quality combination. For strength, the muffler end-plates are radiused at the inlet and outlet preventing premature cracking. Additionally, reinforcing gussets are used when necessary. Depending on the application, you can choose from 3 inch round tips with a rolled edge, 4.5 inch oval rolled edge tips, 5.25 inch oval rolled edge tips or DTM style tips for European applications.
